Custom Made Clothing
September 2, 2013

You are getting ready to go out but you have nothing to wear? No worries!

My son Sean just makes his own! And now he is turning it into a business. I'd like to think he is taking after me. But really, he is just a talented young man, and...I can not sew! I go to him to sew my things!

He even came up with a great name...Custom Altered clothing. He takes plain t-shirts and hoodies and "Custom Alters" them to make them unique and a one of a kind. Most of his supplies he gets from Michaels and what he can't get there he gets at Hobby Lobby and JoAnn fabric and craft store.

Sean is a bit of a style hound himself. What started off as a hobby and an unusual Christmas gift request has turned into, what he hopes, a business. And judging from the requests of his friends who are already asking him to make something for them, he is certainly onto something.

Sean said that trying to find something he wanted to wear, and not finding anything at the stores he liked, or the tailoring on the pants weren't what he liked, led to him thinking, hey, I can do this.

So he asked for a sewing machine for Christmas. He quickly realized that he enjoyed sewing and the time flew by. Best part, the satisfaction of knowing he made it and of course getting a compliment or someone asking where he bought his shirt because they wanted one.

One of his first designs that he made for himself.
He wore it out and was hounded by his friends to make them one.

Yes I am bragging, but hey...that's what Mom's do!
